Hotel Ibis PattayaThe course is quite a challenging layout which is probably best avoided by the higher handicappers as the course is quite exposed to the prevailing winds. Many people are drawn to St. Andrew’s 2000 Golf Club because of its name and although it doesn’t live up to its famous namesake, it is very unusual because it is a par-74 measuring nearly 8,000 yards and includes two extremely long par-6’s stretching to almost 800 yards. Pattaya Country Club Golf Resort is another older Pattaya golf course which has been extensively renovated and still proves very popular and has a brand new, state-of-the-art clubhouse. Within the same group and adjacent you will find Rayong Green Valley Country Club which was originally designed by Peter Thomson and is a very attractively landscaped and mature course. The course can get very crowded and we often get complaints of slow play. Eastern Star Country Club is a rare Robert Trent Jones Jr. golf course which is a pretty easy links-style course which is protected by numerous bunkers and no less than eleven lakes.

Parichat International Golf Links is one of the newer courses in Pattaya which although quite short, has plenty of water which comes into play on most holes. Pattavia Century Golf Club, originally opened in 1996, has also been renovated and upgraded and although it’s a bit further from the city, it has been built in a very rural location with great views of the surrounding hills. Treasure Hills Golf Course is a much improved and mature golf course which most people remember for the ‘crocodile hole’ in memory of the crocodiles that used to inhabit the local creek. The feedback we get is that this is a challenging course and best avoided by high handicappers. They have been immortalized by a large statue of a crocodile beside the fairway. Silky Oak Country Club, which shares a clubhouse with St. Andrew’s 2000 and Rayong Green Valley is a very inexpensive course offering great views from some parts of the course and would suit higher handicappers.

Panchalae Boutique Residences PattayaA lively coastal city full of bars and restaurants. There are more than 25 courses in the area, and these are some of the best. Pattaya is known for its vibrant nightlife, golden beaches and its selection of world-class golf courses. The town was one of Thailand’s first every beach resorts, having provided rest and relaxation for American soldiers in the 1960’s. There are many sandy beaches within the vicinity and water sports, such as snorkelling and scuba diving are popular. Pattaya is located just over 60 miles south-east of Bangkok and is very easy to reach. The nightlife also plays a large role in attracting visitors to Pattaya, with bars and clubs plentiful and due to the volume of people visiting for a holiday, the number of high quality hotels is increasing all the time. Pattaya also stands as a premier destination for golf enthusiasts. The city boasts a growing selection of exceptional golf courses that perfectly combine challenging play with stunning natural beauty, a testament to the city’s commitment to providing golf enthusiasts with world-class facilities and unforgettable rounds amidst the breathtaking coastal landscape.

The many benefit of playing golf in Pattaya, beyond the great weather and generally excellent condition of the courses, is that affordable green fees mean a round here won’t break the bank. The golf courses in Pattaya can match anything found in the whole of Asia and beyond, yet cost a fraction of the price to play, making Pattaya a dream destination for those who like to pack as much golf as possible into their break. Not only that, but the golf courses in this area of Thailand are suitable for players of all abilities, so whether you are a good, experienced golfer or a beginner, there is definitely something for you in Pattaya. One of the most famous golf courses in Thailand and a regular on Golf Digest’s list of the Top 100 courses in the world, the Old Course at Siam Country Club is (as the name would suggest) one of the oldest golf courses in Thailand, having opened for play in 1970. A 2007 renovation by Lee Schmidt and Brian Curley brought the course up to modern standards while keeping much of the original layout intact, with some new additions in the form or devilish water hazards and artfully-sculpted bunkers.
