There are two traditional Thai-style teak houses with dining tables and chairs, and one pavilion where diners sit on cushions on the teak floor and dine off a low table. We chose the latter. There were four other diners that evening, probably because of the afternoon rain. We had the pavilion to ourselves. We also ordered fried sea bass with spicy, sweet and pickled chilly dip. We were introduced to the 5 signature dishes and we ordered 3 of them – fried banana blossoms, spicy seafood in coconut, and flour dumplings dessert in coconut cream. All the dishes were good. Dinner’s pace was relaxing and made more enjoyable by the serenade of traditional string instrument being played by a musician. Whenever we needed anything, we were asked to ring a small bell placed on our dining table. The traditional Thai atmosphere complemented the Thai cuisine vert well. Cloistered in the resort’s expansive, landscaped grounds away from lively Pattaya, we had a memorable and very relaxing dining experience.
