Briton Shot Dead in Porsche in Thailand’s Pattaya Resort
A British man has been shot dead in his Porsche in Thailand. Tony Kenway, originally from Southampton, was killed in a car park in the resort of Pattaya at 14:10 local time, according to the Bangkok Post. Sanit Sport Club, where the shooting happened, offered its condolences in a message posted on its Facebook page. The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) has confirmed it is in contact with local police regarding the death of a British national. The Bangkok Post reported that an eyewitness described the gunman as a “chubby man wearing a white T-shirt and black jacket” who opened the door of the red Cayenne GTS before firing once and escaping on a black motorcycle. His Facebook profile shows he lived in Bangkok but previously resided in Marbella, Spain, and had been married to his wife, Pans, since November. Mr Kenway was described as a father-of-four who had set up a website design business. The BBC is not responsible for the content of external sites.
Pictured: An aerial view of Amari Pattaya, on the northern waterfront of the city. There is plenty to choose from with Asian dishes, western favourites and sweet snacks on offer in the massive eatery at Amari Pattaya. The resort is uniquely tailored to children so all members of the family enjoy their time away. It’s true there is plenty to see in Pattaya but it’s easy to spend a few days hidden behind the gates of Amari. I made use of the on-the-ground facilities by stopping by Amari’s Breeze Spa. The supervised outdoor water slides are adjoined to the Treehouse Kids’ Club where friendly hosts watch over the little ones and treat them to games and face-painting, among other activities. I treated myself to a body scrub and one of their Signature Mood Massages, to prepare myself for a week of sight-seeing. The newly built Amari Suites opening as recently as this year (pictured).

I closed the experience feeling refreshed and enjoyed a post-treatment signature Breeze treat. Children can also be accommodated at Breeze Spa with pedicures and DIY accessory flip flops. There is plenty to choose from with Asian dishes, western favourites and sweet snacks on offer in the massive eatery. With the saying ‘breakfast is the most important meal of the day’ on the tip of my lips, the buffet at Amaya Food Gallery will certainly give you enough energy to conquer the hours ahead. Running for a nail-biting 60 minutes, Kaan Show leaves all visitors on the edge of their seats. Guests can also spoil themselves to in-house dining for their evening meal at Aqua Bar. The live-action performance is ideal for every age range, with impressive acting, acrobatics and 4D projection mapping reeling the viewer in. The story line also explores four Thai folktales, tying national culture in with the action.

While all visitors in Pattaya – discover this info here – can enjoy Sky Gallery’s menu, the restaurant dishes up some of the most stunning sunsets, making it the perfect eatery for a date night. The tables are angled towards the cliff edge, providing glistening panoramic views of the water and skyline. As the sun begins to set, the Sky Gallery glitters with dazzling fairy lights scaling the venue. Another restaurant welcoming diners to delight in water views is Mum Aroi Seafood Restaurant. There are also comfy bean-bag seating options, encouraging a low-key atmosphere to relax and enjoy a cocktail. As per the title, the eatery specialises in delicacies from the sea. One of the greatest things about Pattaya is that all of the experiences mentioned above blissfully co-exist with the city’s notorious ‘adults only scene’. It is completely possible to avoid the red light district, just as easy as it is to get among the chaos that is Walking Street.
